Breast Cancer Awareness Month at Atlas Translations

Celebrating Breast Cancer Awareness Month - Atlas Translations - Translation Agency - Certified Translation

Eagle-eyed fashionistas may notice a rise in the number of people wearing pink this month, but it’s more than just a momentary trend. It’s all part of the drive for Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

Every October, charities and organisations from all over the globe come together to raise awareness and funding for breast cancer research and other important initiatives. Here at Atlas Translations, we’ve been taking part for a number of years – and here’s how you can get involved too!

Bigging Up Our Brilliant Bra Bank

Our Bra Bank has been a permanent fixture at our St Albans offices for quite some time now. The Bra Recycling Bin by our office on St Peter’s Street is the perfect place to drop off your unwanted or unloved bras.

All of the bras donated go towards a brilliant cause organised by the fantastic charity Against Breast Cancer. Every tonne of bras we donate helps to fund £700 of research to find a solution for breast cancer. Alongside hundreds of other bra banks around the country, we can really make a big difference!

That’s not the only great initiative your old bras go towards – Against Breast Cancer also donates the reuseable bras it receives to small businesses in developing nations, such as Togo, Ghana, and Kenya. This helps to give your unwanted bras a new lease of life, as well as reducing landfill in the UK and abroad.

Where Can You Drop Off Your Donations?

If you’d like to get involved by donating your old bras to Atlas Translations’ bra bank, here’s how in three easy steps:

  1. Pop your unwanted bras in a plastic bag, seal it and clearly mark it with ‘Atlas Translations Bra Bank’.
  2. Head over to our offices at Censeo House, 6 St Peter’s Street, St Albans, AL1 3LF during our business hours (9am-5pm, Monday to Friday), ring the buzzer and one of us will come down – we are just next door to Waterstones!
  3. Accept our huge thanks for making the Bra Bank such a big success!

It’s all down to your fantastic donations that our Bra Bank has been able to raise hundreds of pounds for breast cancer research, as well as provide bras for women across the world who otherwise might not have access to them. Thanks so much and make sure to keep spreading the word!
