Why should I translate my business card?
A bilingual business card is a gesture of courtesy. Having the appropriate information in the host language is an effective way of making a statement – that the giver of the card has made an effort to show respect for the language and culture of the host country.
What is copywriting?
Copywriting, and transcreation is the process of creating original copy for advertising, marketing and promotional material.
What is interpreting?
Interpreting is the conversion of verbal communication from one language to another. An interpreter will liaise, via oral translation, between two or more parties who speak different languages. As well as translating the words, professional interpreters transfer the real meaning and feeling of what is being said.
What is the difference between localisation and translation?
Translation is the process of taking an original text and putting it accurately and succinctly into another language. Localisation takes this process a few steps further. Not only must the language be correct (and accurately reflect the meaning of the original text), but it must also be adapted to conform to the local conventions and culture of the target audience.
Reading and writing can be very difficult for the blind and partially sighted. A large number of people with impaired vision can read large print but only very slowly. Reading a whole page can therefore be time consuming and exhausting. Some people prefer to listen to audio cassettes or ask sighted people to read to them. We can offer a reading on to tape/CD service, which can be of benefit to Councils, DSS and other organisations working with this community.
What is Sign language interpreting?
Sign language interpreting is the means of passing messages between hearing and hard-of-hearing or deaf people. As well as translating the meaning of the words, professional interpreters transfer the real meaning and feeling of what is being said. BSL is a complete language in its own right with its own grammar and syntax.
What is translation?
Translation is the process of taking an original document (the source language text) and putting it accurately and succinctly into another language (the target language text). The translation should reflect the style and meaning of the original text.
What is typesetting?
Typesetting is the process of laying out a document in a particular format, usually in preparation for printing. We regularly typeset magazines, brochures, leaflets and business cards. Our work is carried out using desktop publishing packages such as Quark Xpress, In Design and PageMaker.
