What is Americanisation?

Americanisation is the task of adapting a text for the American market, taking into account the difference in style, terminology and vocabulary of the text. Any tables, figures, numbers, names, abbreviations, punctuation, conversions etc will also be verified.

What is the difference between localisation and translation?

Translation is the process of taking an original text and putting it accurately and succinctly into another language. Localisation takes this process a few steps further. Not only must the language be correct (and accurately reflect the meaning of the original text), but it must also be adapted to conform to the local conventions and culture of the target audience.

Reading and writing can be very difficult for the blind and partially sighted. A large number of people with impaired vision can read large print but only very slowly.
