Abi joined the Atlas team in 2026 as a Project Manager, after graduating from the University of Bath with a BA in Modern Languages (Spanish and French), and completing an MA in Translation and Professional Language Skills.
As part of her academic research, Abi is a member of the Language Creation Society. In 2025, she attended the 11th Language Creation Conference. This is a conference where linguists from around the world showcase, present, and lecture on new and existing constructed languages (conlangs) and the linguistic and cultural advantages of these languages. She is also a member of the Klingon Language Institute; she is a particular fan of the Klingon word of the day.
On Abi’s year abroad, she studied in Aix-en-Provence and Alicante and took the opportunity to learn Catalan in French, and German and Valencian in Spanish. She is currently learning Norwegian and hopes to be a polyglot by 2027.
Abi enjoys working with charities, as she is a firm believer in the power of translation for the greater good. She recently worked with a team of translators on a transcription project from Peruvian Spanish into English for a basic-income pilot scheme in the remote Amazon. She hopes that this work will make a real difference for the residents, both now and in the future.
She is a chai latte enthusiast, and you will often find her cosied up in a café with a new chai latte to try. Her most recent café trip featured a tantalising raspberry chai latte which she reviewed very highly; however, nothing has since compared to the warming lattes she once sampled in Copenhagen, and she cannot wait to return to Denmark and embrace her full hygge (the feeling of cosiness and comfort).
