Work With Us as a Supplier

Interested in working with us as a freelance supplier? Here's some information to read through first.

Updated 24th June 2026

Thinking of Applying?

Before you do, there’s something we’d like to be upfront about.

Since 1991, we have built a trusted network of freelance translators, interpreters and language specialists. In many language combinations and subject areas, we already have excellent, long-standing relationships with experienced professionals and simply aren’t looking to expand our supplier base.

In fact, for some languages, we have more qualified applicants than we could ever realistically offer regular work to.

So, if you’re looking to send out the same application to hundreds of agencies in the hope that something sticks, we’d rather save you the time and disappointment.

However…

If you have specialist expertise, a niche language combination or exceptional professional experience that fills a gap in our network, we’d genuinely love to hear from you.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered, you’ll need to meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • A recognised qualification in advanced translation studies and at least two years’ documented relevant professional experience; or
  • An equivalent qualification and at least three years’ documented relevant professional experience; or
  • Five years or more of documented relevant professional experience.

Meeting these criteria does not guarantee acceptance onto our supplier database, but they represent the minimum professional standards we expect.

Will Atlas Need My Services?

Perhaps.
Perhaps not.

Our requirements change over time and depend on our clients’ needs. We don’t recruit to quotas or aim to build the largest possible supplier database. We’d much rather maintain a carefully selected network of specialists who complement our existing team.

As a result, we may decide not to progress an application simply because we already have sufficient coverage for a particular language combination or specialism.

Please don’t take it personally. It isn’t a reflection on your skills or experience.

If You Do Get in Touch…

Please make it count. We’re interested in:

  • Your specialist sectors.
  • Your professional experience.
  • What makes you different.
  • Why you’d be a good fit for Atlas.

A thoughtful, personalised introduction will always stand out more than a generic application.

A Gentle Reality Check

We’re probably not the right fit if:

  • You’re new to the profession and looking for your first project.
  • You don’t yet meet our minimum experience requirements.
  • You’re sending the same application to every agency you can find online.

We probably are worth contacting if:

  • You have genuine specialist expertise.
  • You meet our professional criteria.
  • You’ve taken the time to find out a little about us and think we’d work well together.

Still Interested?

If you’ve read all of the above and think you could bring something unique to our supplier network, we’d be delighted to hear from you.

After all, the best professional relationships often start with a good introduction.
