Machine Translation Post-Editing (MTPE)

What is machine translation post-editing, or MTPE? To keep it simple, MTPE involves revising and correcting machine-translated content to bring it up to a true and accurate standard.

Atlas Translations have provided a variety of services for Alzheimer’s Society, including the translation of our flagship information resource ‘Worried about your memory?’ into a variety of different languages. The service we have received is consistently to high standard, with staff going beyond the call of duty to fulfil our requirements. I will definitely be using this translation agency again, and would recommend them to anyone looking for top quality translation services.

You have been such a help and we can’t thank you enough. We’re getting an amazing response. It is quite a challenge, but we wouldn’t be making our deadlines without your translation agency’s assistance. Many many thanks.

Atlas completed the work within our time frame and the proofreading service gave us the extra peace of mind that the translations were accurate and of quality.

It’s tough when you have to rely on a translation agency and trust that the translations are correct but with Atlas, we can rest assured that the language, tone, and style of translation is suitable for our audiences.

Machine Translation: AI Pros and Cons

As someone tasked with adapting your company’s brand materials and global communications for different regions, it is essential for you to grasp both the advantages and limitations of machine translation tools.

Incorporating artificial intelligence (AI) driven translation services into your company’s operations can cut expenses and expedite the translation process. But cheap and fast can come at a cost. Striking the right balance between cost-effectiveness and risk management is crucial.

The downside of a subpar translation may not be readily apparent to businesses venturing into machine translation for the first time. A bad translation can harm your brand image, destroy customer trust, and negatively affect your sales growth.

Conversely, true and accurate translation builds credibility, fosters customer loyalty, and converts leads into clients.

How Can Atlas Translations Help Me?

Odds are you’ve translated some type of document using some type of artificial intelligence (AI) tool—maybe Google Translate, CoPilot, or similar. After reading it through, or possibly trying to, you’ve determined that somewhere, something got… lost in translation.

As a translation agency, we are all too aware of how technology is speeding ahead. This means we’re now expecting people to come to us with documents that have been loosely (i.e. not well) translated by AI.

When you bring us the machine-translated content, we’ll evaluate what we can do with it to help. It could be some light editing if it’s just minor typos, words in the wrong place, or generally lacking personality. On the other end of the spectrum, if it’s just an incredibly bad translation, we may have to let you know that it would take so long to fix that you may as well get it translated from scratch.
