Summary
For a healthcare communications agency working with some of the biggest names in the global pharmaceutical industry, certified translations are a legal requirement and integral to the process. Atlas Translations is proud to have built a strong, ongoing relationship with this client. For over seven years, we have been their go-to supplier for regular, human, and certified medical translations across a wide range of projects.
How it started
When translating medical materials and patient information in over 70 languages and across nearly 50 countries, there is no room for error. Our client is a healthcare communications company that develops content and creative for clinical trials. They came to Atlas looking for a comprehensive, well-rounded medical translation service that could manage the volume and range of translations they needed, and deliver them to ISO standards.
The English content is written to an exceptionally high standard by our client’s experienced copywriters. A great deal of work goes into ensuring the information is accessible and easily understood by anyone reading it. Our job is to carry that quality through into every language, making sure the meaning stays clear and the content remains easy to understand. At the same time, we adapt each medical translation so that it feels natural in the target language while staying accurate and appropriate for the local audience.
What we did
To ensure consistent service, project manager Jim Hearn maintains a core team of professionally qualified translators with medical expertise across all languages, drawn from our extensive talent database. With incredible attention to detail and an eye for cultural nuance, our team of linguists can spot errors and inconsistencies and use their initiative to flag potential issues (for example, acronyms that don’t translate well into other languages) as they arise.
We have now supported this client on around 60 projects a year, for over seven years. Core services include translating initial recruitment posters and basic information sheets, through to substantial study guides and advice for patients taking part in clinical research. The materials we translate for healthcare professionals often include a lot of technical information and medical terminology, which requires a very high level of specialism from our translators.
What they say
Our relationship with this client (and every client) goes far beyond a transactional supplier relationship; they see us as an extension of their team.
Jim says, “The ongoing relationship and rapport we’ve built with this client is a great example of how Atlas Translations works with a client, not just for them. Over the years, we have established a solid working partnership that’s based on trust and takes a huge weight off their shoulders”.
Our client says, “Over the years, we have developed a collaborative partnership with Atlas. They understand the realities of working on global clinical trial projects. Their team is reliable, responsive and easy to work with, bringing flexibility and consistency to complex projects, particularly when timelines are tight and requirements evolve quickly.”
