Why are we in St Albans?

St Albans home of Atlas Translations
Atlas Translations started in 1991 in Cambridge, and opened an office in London in 1995 – so what are we doing in leafy St Albans?!

It’s a great place to be – steeped in Roman history with lovely parks and a busy city centre. But did you know:

  • There are more than 8000 businesses in the district. St Albans boasts large businesses including Deloitte, Aecom, PwC, Premier Foods, Logica and Aon Hewitt.
  • We are only 20 miles from central London. Roads around us include the M1, and M25, and we have direct train services to London, Luton, Gatwick, Brighton, Bedford and Watford – and many more places. We can even get to Paris in under 3 hours via Eurostar!
  • St Albans has a highly skilled workforce (like us!) with 46% of residents educated to degree level or above.

If you come and see us, we can give you tips on all the best places to eat and visit. Consider a Wednesday or a Saturday as that’s when the market is on. Apparently there has been a regular market here for over 1000 years!
