What is Interpreting?
Interpreting is the conversion of verbal communication from one language to another. An interpreter will liaise, via oral translation, between two or more parties who speak different languages. As well as translating the words, professional interpreters transfer the real meaning and feeling of what is being said.

This service involves the hire of simultaneous interpreting equipment. As providers of experienced simultaneous interpreters, we at Atlas Translations know the importance of also having professional equipment.
What are Localisation and Transcreation?
Translation is the process of taking an original text and putting it accurately and succinctly into another language. Localisation and Transcreation take this process a few steps further. Not only must the language be correct (and accurately reflect the meaning of the original text), but it must also be adapted to conform to the local conventions and culture of the target audience.

What is Transcription?
Transcription involves creating a record of the spoken word. It will involve listening to a video or electronic sound file (MP3, wav, etc) or a CD/DVD or tape and typing word-for-word what is being spoken.

What is Typesetting?
Typesetting is the process of laying out a document in a particular format, usually in preparation for printing. We regularly typeset magazines, brochures, leaflets and business cards. Our work is carried out using desktop publishing packages such as InDesign.
What is Voiceover?
Voiceover is the technique of replacing an existing soundtrack of a film, corporate video, DVD or advertisement with a foreign language version.
